The downtime lasted around 80 minutes before we were back up. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This is just a small update to say we've updated the Mini Profile Hover which is available for vBulletin to version 1.1.

In this new version, you no longer need to make any template edits, and almost all member links are automatically given the functionality of making a pop-up when a username link is hovered over.

Additionally, we've made this fully compatible with vBulletin 3.7.

Enjoy!

We hope you enjoy it, there are a couple of small refinements coming in the next few days, following the results of something new and funky we are trying, so keep your eyes open for v 1.5.1 very soon!

Enjoy, and as always, ask on the forum if you have any questions!

November 27, 2007, 3:56 amDistribution
What is Distribution?

Inferno Technologies sells its products the world over, however most of our sales come from The US and the UK.

The reason for this is that we cannot spend time localising our website etc, and translating the software.

We allow people (agents) to distribute our products to those parts of the world, and in those languages, which we are unable to do ourselves.

Distributors can purchase licenses in bulk to take advantage of our generous bulk discounts, and sell them on for whatever price they choose, in the regions we agree to give them distribution rights in.

If you think you could translate a product, or make money by selling it for yourself (by targeting a market we don't, perhaps) Then feel free to submit an application, and we will contact you for an interview.

Over the past half year or so the currency exchange rates have been steadily decreasing our profits, and it has reached a point where, in order to continue providing the products and services we do, we need to start charging in our native currency, which is GBP.

You will find with this change that some products have become cheaper, and some have become slightly more expensive. We apologise for any inconvenience, and would like to point out that you can still pay in other currencies, and that PayPal as well as 2co will automatically change the prices using the current exchange rate.

October 21, 2007, 2:50 amUpdates, updates, updates!
As you will have noticed, there have been some dramatic changes around the Inferno Technologies website, we are officially running version number 2 now! With it our main change is aesthetics, a new skin we hope to be pleasant for usage and easy to navigate throughout the website.

We've spent a fair bit of time on this, the other main change you'll see is a new blogs section, where myself and Decado can speak freely about things related to Inferno Technologies and express some personal opinions on topics. These may be about updates, upcoming events, or anything really, you're free to post comments in our blogs, be aware however that they are moderated, so once you post they won't show up immediately.

Along with that, we have our newsletters, which current customers will have seen as a copy of this news item has been sent to them!

We also have a new product released at the same time, this is Inferno Mod Tools, this extension to vBulletin should come in handy in various situations, and we hope it can provide some use and perhaps make life easier for you, moderation is key to websites and Mod Tools has been designed around this premise. If you'd like to find out more, then you can do so here.

We hope you enjoy the updates, and perhaps have fun finding out what else has been changed!

May 5, 2007, 6:47 pmUpdate on server switch
The people we were planning on switching to (hostgator) managed to lose our verification information, or something like that.

To put it simply they were useless and uncooperative.

We have decided to instead stay with our current hosts, Liquidweb, but switch to their professional dedicated server plans, which will give us a top of the range dedicated server.

This will cost about 35% more, but we are confident that the difference in support and performance is worth it.

We are unable to guarantee when the switch will take place, but it shouldnt take more than a day. It will be within the next week for sure. If the site is down, and you're wondering why, this is the reason :)

For those interested, the new server specs are:

» Processor: 2x Dual Xeon 2.8GHZ HT EMT64
» Memory: 4GB DDR Registered ECC
» Hd1: 160GB 7200RPM SATA / 8MB Cache
» Hd2: 160GB 7200RPM SATA / 8MB Cache

- Decado

Update:

The nice people at liquid web have increased our ram to 4gb, and reduced our price.

I spotted a special offer they were doing after we had placed our order and it had been confirmed. We asked if we could cancel and re order. They replied no need, we'll just fix it so you get the special offer, you don't need to do anything.

Thats how webhosting should be done, Hostgator, take notes.

September 2, 2005, 5:27 amRPG Inferno 3.0 Development Update
Hi everyone,

Well as you know, v3 has now been planned since around the back end of may, and one would think it should be coming to an end. Unfortunately this isn't the case, for several reasons, most of which are down to myself and real life issues. Nothing you need to worry about though.

Anyhow, the development is finally in gear and we feel that while some time has been lost it was definetely not wasted. Decado and I have extensively planned out parts of the system beyond our original aims and are can confidently predict that the release, while somewhat delayed/late will definetly be worth it.

I guess the main question is when will 3.0 be released? It is too early to tell, however once we have a stable amount of the system operational we will be running it ourselves on GZE - www.gzevolution.net purposely for beta testing on a real production live site, and for you, the customers so you can see what to expect.

We're also pleased to announce that the graphical elements of RPG Inferno have been improved. Money from the product itself has gone into graphics development, both programs and people, I'm sure you'll all be pleased to hear

You may wonder where the project currently stands, and the answer to that is in the early stages of development, as i'm still writing up the new inferno engine model. This is similar to the model used here, on Inferno Technologies. It was designed mainly to process php at a much faster rate, tests so far show that vB will run upto 3 times faster while viewing/operating the rpg system than it would on normal vBulletin pages (showthread and such). After the main part of this is completed i can move onto coding features from our long list, i expect previews to be available within 2/3 weeks, possibly sooner but I can't guarentee this as I'm moving house in a couple of weeks (it'll be a minor set back).

So, on a final note, appologies for the delay, they were inevitable, but i personally aim to increase the development pace as much as possible to compensate for these setbacks.

Thanks for reading,
